Q & A

Why did you choose your profession?

I was drawn to finance because it combines analytical thinking with the opportunity to influence strategic decisions. Early in my career, I worked in investment management before transitioning to FP&A, where I discovered I enjoyed partnering directly with business leaders to solve problems and help organizations make better decisions. Over the years, I’ve found the most rewarding part of my work isn’t just building financial models, but creating clarity from complex information, improving processes, and helping teams achieve their goals.

Who is the one person who has done the most to shape you into who you are today?

My mom has had the greatest influence on who I am today. After my dad died when I was 4, she earned her graduate degree while raising me as a single mother. She went on to build a successful career, eventually retiring as an executive at a large public company. Watching her persevere through difficult circumstances while balancing the demands of work and parenthood taught me the value of resilience, hard work, and integrity. She showed me that professional success and a strong commitment to family don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Those lessons continue to shape how I approach my career, lead others, and strive to balance work with my own family.

What has been the greatest accomplishment of your life so far? Is there anything you wish to do even better?

Professionally, I’m most proud of building finance functions and reporting frameworks that help organizations make better decisions. Whether leading budgeting transformations, creating executive presentations, or improving forecasting processes, I enjoy leaving organizations with tools and processes that continue to create value long after a project is complete.

Personally, my greatest accomplishment is my family. Being a parent has taught me patience, perspective, and adaptability, qualities that have strengthened both my leadership and my relationships.

Looking ahead, I want to continue growing as a leader by mentoring and developing others while helping organizations build finance teams that are viewed as strategic business partners rather than just reporting functions.

How would your peers and team members describe your responsiveness as a leader?

I believe my colleagues would describe me as approachable, collaborative, and dependable. I make it a priority to be accessible, respond quickly, promote transparency, and provide thoughtful support when challenges arise. I also believe in explaining the “why” behind decisions so people understand the broader context, not just the task at hand. My goal is to build an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and working together to solve problems.
